Bio

In "Franklin's Nature Hike," Franklin partners with Snail during a nature hike. Franklin does not understand that Snail likes to see the sights and keeps snatching him away to keep things moving, as well as helping him when he is capable of doing things himself. Eventually, Snail gets angry and goes off on his own, surprising everyone by finding a cache of beautiful crystals. Afterwards, Franklin apologizes to Snail and Snail forgives him, telling him that it's okay to help him, but only when he actually needs it.

In "Franklin and Snail's Dream," Snail shares with Franklin his greatest dream: to fly. He is worried that Franklin will laugh at him, but Franklin takes his dreams seriously, as his father Mr. Turtle has told him that it's important to follow your dreams. He sets out to make Snail's dream a reality, but all of their attempts at flying come up short. Furthermore, their attempts are scoffed at by Beaver, who telsl them that snails can't fly. Discouraged, Franklin wonders to his father if it's possible that some dreams are simply too big to come true. Mr. Turtle then introduces Snail to Miss Periwinkle, a snail pilot, who takes Snail for a ride in her airplane. Miss Periwinkle reveals to Snail that people told her that girls couldn't be pilots.

In Franklin and the Green Knight, Snail becomes deeply worried when he learns that Franklin is going to become a big brother. He worries that after Franklin's new sibling is born, Franklin will no longer have any time for him. Around the same time, Franklin hears the story of The Quest of the Green Knight and proposes it for the Woodland elementary school spring play. When he learns that the baby is going to be coming in spring, he becomes very worried when it seems that spring is coming late to Woodland. He decides to set out on his own quest as the Green Knight, appointing Snail as his squire.

Along the way, the two squabble when it seems as if Franklin wants to take all the credit for himself, just like the Green Knight in the story. Eventually, the two come to an understanding when each admits their own fears to each other. Snail admits to being worried that he will lose Franklin as a friend because Franklin will have no time anymore, while Franklin reveals his own worries that he will lose the love and attention of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Turtle. The two later reprise their roles as the Green Knight and his Squire for the spring play.

In "Franklin's Advice," Snail cracks his shell while performing his special "rico-shell" move in soccer. Although it pains him greatly, he decides to hide his injury from his parents, fearing that they will forbid him from ever playing again. Worried, Franklin urges him to tell his parents, but he insists that the injury will get better on its own. Franklin, however, learns from his parents that shell-cracks do not heal on their own. He warns Snail that if he doesn't tell his parents, he will have no choice but to go them himself. Snail is angry at Franklin at first, but tells his parents and feels much better, and is also relieved that he is not forbidden from playing forever, only until he gets better.
