A coyote (a member of the dog family), who tried his hardest not to photograph Franklin. Franklin was on a mission to do go deeds and make into the paper. He made it in, but there was no picture of him and Mr. Coyote incorrectly gave his name as "Frank." Mr. Coyote reappeared in a bike race episode where he helped Franklin and Bear enter the race by sponsoring them for the newspaper, and gave them an opportunity to take a challenge in order to get more computers for the library. They succeeded, and Mr. Coyote put everyone's picture on the front page. Mr. Coyote was voiced in his appearances by Stephen Ouimette.
